What is it?
NMM: Newcomers is a validated 24-session multimodal narrative intervention program designed to promote both the oral narrative structure in Catalan and the socioemotional wellbeing and the school integration among newcomer primary school students.

Eight animated cartoons
This version of the MMN features eight animated cartoons about the Ocellets Trapelles, three very mischievous siblings named Blauet, Verdet and Marronet (Bluey, Greeny and Browny) (part of the “Angry Birds Blues” series). You will also have the opportunity to meet their family and some of their friends!

How to implement it?
The intervention lasts 24 sessions, with two sessions per week over 12 weeks. The sessions are divided into two large blocks.
- Block 1: It lasts 8 weeks (16 sessions). Each week, narrative structure and oral expression are trained with a different story.
- Weekly session 1. Vocabulary learning and story retelling.
- Weekly session 2. Reflecting about the story and personal story generation.
- Block 2: It lasts 4 weeks (8 sessions) and involves three subprojects expanding the work done during the first block.
- Subproject 1. The ocellets trapelles at our school (2 sessions): Preparation of a brief presentation on the intervention and joint activities with classmates from the mainstream classroom.
- Subproject 2. The ocellets trapelles in Catalonia (3 sessions):Creation of original stories about the adventures of the Ocellets Trapelles in Catalonia.
- Subproject 3. The ocellets trapelles in your countries(3 sessions): Creation of original stories about the adventures of the Ocellets Trapelles in their countries of origin.
