What is it?
MMN: Preschool is a validated 9-session multimodal narrative intervention program designed to promote the oral narrative structure and emotional perspective-taking in Catalan among preschool students.
The intervention has been designed to be implemented with two different supports:

Universal support
Group implementation
Addressed to all children

Intensive support
Individualized implementation
Addressed to children with specific educational needs
Three animated cartoons
This version of the MMN features three animated cartoons (part of the “Chigüiro” series) about Meloix, a friendly capybara.
Meloix and the bath
Sessions 1–3

Sessions 4–6
Meloix and the bus
Sessions 7–9
How to implement it?
The intervention is structured in blocks of three sessions, each dedicated to the same story. Each session begins with the same sequence of activities (cartoon watching and model embodied storytelling) and continues with a main activity:

- Session 1. Sequenced story retelling (Q&A) about the story
- Session 2. Story retelling and dramatization
- Session 3. Personal story generation

- Session 1. Sequenced story retelling (Q&A) about the first half of the story
- Session 2. Sequenced story retelling (Q&A) about the second half of the story
- Session 3. Personal story generation

Read what our professionals say
“At first I thought these stories were very simple for children in the last year of preschool (age 5), but when I started implementing the intervention I realized that the stories work well for practicing macrostructure and multimodality. This intervention has helped me improve my work on oral language in the classroom”
Preschool teacher
“I think the intervention has enriched me personally, and has given me new resources to use in my daily practice.”
